ABVP Demands rolling back of decision of stop Vocational Course in Central University

Educational institutions hold on a lot of matters regarding funding and others, Central University of Jammu is no different from that but this time matter is different as a scuffle is going on in the University wherein the students are made to suffer as faculties concerned and the administration due to some personal tensions ongoing has stopped a Government of India sponsored Job Oriented vocational Course in Tourism Management (B.Voc Tourism)and put off the ongoing admissions to this course which is majorly affecting the students who wanted to enroll for this very course and make a career in it.

Herein it becomes mandatory to mention that Central government under it's Flagship Program Pradhan Mantri koushal Vikas yojna and the National Governing body of Skill Education National Skill Development council impart education to students in this very Course. The consent to continue this Program is being conveyed time to time but the Central University of Jammu administration despite the

request of Academic counsel is unshakable on this stance.

Aakriti Sharma, Vice president ABVP CUJ said that Central University of Jammu being the first campus in J&K to run these programs got initial funding of Rs.1.85 crores approved for Vocational Education and last year Central University of Kashmir and Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University,Rajouri had started off with these courses and to no surprise the students of Jammu are again made to suffer by this decision. If the Funding of the other contemporary departments could be done in CUJ like B.Voc Retail Management and a pioneer batch of Banking and finance could be started off with the financial as well

as teaching staff restrains and the staff whether Ad hoc or contractual could be fully engaged with the contemporaries ,why not this could be carried on with the B.Voc Tourism as well?Whatever the unworthy or deceptive be involved in this case wherein the future of the students is being deteriorated for the selfish means are highly condemnable and the whole of this narrative for whatever means it is set to be ,for targeting anyone or any other political constraints amongst the people or bodies or their motives involved should be clearly sorted out.

Anubhav Sharma, second vice president ABVP CUJ said that on one hand one course is being shut off and on other hand another course i.e. MSc. in Biotechnology is being opened. As claimed by the university if there is lack of infrastructure then how can university begin a new course that requires well established laboratories and equipment? It is required that one course which have already been running should be provided with infrastructure that it needs rather than shutting it off.

ABVP demands that this decision should be rolled back by the administration keeping in mind the goals of an educational institution and a hub for producing eminent tourism employees in this dynamically changing Jammu & Kashmir.

ABVP stands against this adamant behavior of the Administration which is totally unacceptable and unjustified. Hoping that this misunderstanding or athoughtful conspiracy whatever it may be should be taken back and the enrollment should be started to this verycourse of the Tourism Management with immediate effect.
